Regarding the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, celebrated on September 29th, the United Against Waste Movement is organizing a public event at the Alcântara Maritime Terminal starting at 4 p.m., with the partnership of Luis Simões. The event is free, and interested individuals can register here.

The event brings together various sectors of the food chain and aims to discuss and find solutions for the negative impacts of food waste. The panels include participation from important figures such as the Secretary of State for the Environment, Hugo Pires, and representatives from food-related organizations.

The conference will be followed by a Zero Waste Sunset, featuring culinary demonstrations and music, concluding with the presence of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The initiative seeks to raise awareness about food waste, a global problem of significant proportions.
