José Luís Simões, chairman of Luís Simões Directors Board, accompanied by three directors of Luís Simões family business – Leonel, Jorge and Daniela Simões – was awarded yesterday in Badajoz with the ROS International Award, which recognizes each year the professional trajectory of one entrepreneur, whose company has a great relevance in the region of Extremadura.
A link that, in the case of Luís Simões, is more than evident, since it has been present in the region for 30 years and, together with Andalusia, it’s a reference strategic point for activity of cross-border Iberian flows, especially through of Badajoz.
In this sense, Luís Simões provides its services as a logistics operator integrated to important companies in the region such as Chemical Industries of Badajoz, Aceitunas, Cazorla, Italagro or Arrocerías Pons, supplier of Mercadona supermarkets. An activity with which LS contributes both to products exportation from Extremadura to Portugal and to its transport and delivery to the large Spanish distribution groups.
Luís Simões has an external platform, located in Mérida, from which it develops its capillary distribution operation, covering the entire region of Extremadura, as well as its logistical operations and transportation center in Dos Hermanas, where it coordinates the operations in the regions of Extremadura and Andalusia.
According to José Luís Simões, “it is a great honor for Luís Simões to receive this award, which recognizes not only our trajectory but also the connection of our company with Extremadura, a region that for 30 years has been one of our main levers of growth in the Spanish market.”.
