The Lisbon City Council, integrated into the Smart Open Lisbon (SOL) platform, has launched SOL Mobility, a collaborative innovation program in partnership with the consulting firm Beta-i, dedicated to promoting sustainable urban mobility. Luís Simões is a partner in this initiative.
The objective is to create innovative solutions to accelerate the energy transition in the city, in line with the goal of making Lisbon carbon-neutral by 2030. Urban mobility represents one of the main challenges, accounting for 43% of CO2 emissions in the capital, as indicated in the Lisbon Climate Action Plan 2030.
The project focuses on various economic sectors, such as public transport operators, logistics operators, retail, private transportation, technology, sports, and leisure, aiming to improve mobility and quality of life in the city.
The program involves collaboration between Portuguese companies and startups from around the world, allowing for applications to develop pilot projects and receive support in validating the proposed solutions. Some of the confirmed partners include Adene, Brisa, Carris, Super Bock group, EDP, and Galp.
